1945 Montenegro - Letter from Šavnik

 Only a few postal items sent from Šavnik in the spring of 1945 are known...

Registered letter, franked with 180 occupation din (letter 80 din, registration 100 din), sent from Šavnik (26.V.45) to Bari Italy, censored by the military censor in Šavnik (cachet: "ВОЈНА ЦЕНЗУРА / == ШАВНИК =="), travelled via Nikšić (28.V.45), Cetinje (31.V.45) and Dubrovnik (2.VI.45) where it was handed over for trans adriatic delivery (cachet: "GL. PRREKOJADR. VOJNA POŠTA JUG. ARMIJE - CHIEF TRANSADR. MILIT. MAIL YUG. ARMY"). From Švarc's correspondence. Certificate Veličković. Very scarce item.

1945 CETINJE, Star on the left

Large shifts of overprint can create interesting effects ...

1945 Cetinje provisional issue, Mi. No. 1, 1/10 Lire, block of four from position 4,5/9,10 with a large horizontal shift of overprint. Looks like the star is on the left.

1945 CETINJE, Double overprint

Only one sheet of 20 Lire / 2 Lire was double overprinted. Since the layout of a sheet was 5x4, only 20 stamps could exist with this variety. The most famous of them is the one from position 2 having typical error D instead of A.

1945 Cetinje local provisional issue, 20/2 Lire, block of four with double overprint. Positions 1-2/6-7. Stamp at position 2 with typical error D instead of A (Демократскд instead of Демократска). Unique item! Certificate Veličković.

1945 Cetinje, local provisional issue, single stamp cover, properly franked with 5 Lir, send from Jošica (30.III.1945) to Split. 

Two-line military censorship cancel ВOJНA ЦEНЗУРA / ХEРЦEГНOВИ (VOJNA CENZURA / HERCEGNOVI)

1945 Cetinje local provisional issue, 20/2 Lire with double overprint. Max 20 possible, only a few are known.

Strong double overprint, shifted 1.7 mm in the horizontal direction.
